Pursuit of Happiness

I'm looking for happiness.
It's nowhere to be.
It's out hiding somewhere
that I cannot see.
Not sure what it looks like
or even what it means,
but I’ll know it when I find it,
'cause it will bring me to my knees.
I might find it in a flower
sprouting in spring
or in a silent meadow
hearing skylarks sing.
Happiness is out there;
don’t give it the boot.
I've seen glimmers and glimpses
and now I'm in hot pursuit.
